i am on r5e50
when i do (in mythweb, on a machine connected to the km-box by ethernet and ssh) in manual recording schedules:
select a station i want to record from (the station does broadcast), i get a green 'box' (maybe you call it 'background surround') the words 'channu', 'airdat' , 'length'..
the rectangular surrounding the station (on the left) is a broken line.
i notice the km-box does NOT record anything.
btw: on the right of that line is a button 'activate', when i press it everyting disappears.
when selecting another station (which has proven to work), i get that same 'box' in blue (not green), and the rectangular on the left has a continuous line, which gets a broken one on the moment the recording starts.
this station DOES record.
btw: on the right of this line is a button 'don't record' (didn't press that yet)
my question: the green versus the blue will indicate some characteristic of the station (as the green one does not record).
what does it say?
why does this station not record?
btw. i am on astra 19.2 east, recording by dvb-s
thanks a lot
(btw: asked before about the same station (EinsPlus, not recording), but got no answer on that.: hope no one will be irritated )

That sure doesn't sound like the normal Manual recording screen in MythWeb. I see a light blue box on a dark blue page, the main topics in it are:
Schedule Options:
Recording Options:
Advanced Options:
Under "Schedule Options:" there are 3 radio buttons, under "Recording Options:" there are a pull down pick list of channels and 5 entry fields for the when to record and what to call it info, under "Advanced Options:" there are the same ones as for normal program guide based recordings.
The Custom recording screen starts out differently, with a bunch of search based options, but has the same light blue on dark blue look and the same "Advanced Options:" section.
I've got no idea what you're seeing and trying to describe, but it doesn't sound like any version of the screens I've seen.

please, look here:
http://members.lycos.nl/driepoot99/mythtv/test_schedule.jpg
all stations are FTA and non-commercial,
at the time the picture was made the topmost was recording,
the second and third are not recording.
i made the schedules 'non-conflicting'
as you can see the third schedule (EinsPlus) is in green.
my problem is:
why is it green
why is the first box not showing '1' as the other two schedules do
what should the command 'activate' do (in the 3rd schedule)
the km-box does not want to record anything from the EinsPlus station.
btw: i have a deep respect for the programmer/programmers of the mythtv/knoppmyth software, but can't help there are some strange problems over here.
thanks for looking

What does yours say? knopprob wrote: the km-box does not want to record anything from the EinsPlus station. I would guess you have a configuration problem in your video sources or channel configuration. I don't know anything about EinsPlus, astra or dvb-s so I'm afraid I can't help there.

What happens if you click "Activate"?
I've got entries that look like that in my upcoming recordings list, mostly from things where I've selected "Inactive:" under "Advanced Options:" or where the scheduler thinks it's a duplicate, either of something you've already recorded or will record at another time. The lack of a letter in the box on the left indicates that it's probably the former (inactive).

So then you're all set. Don't know what else you did that required forcing it, but it looks like it's going to record now.

will try this tomorrow, but i am quite sure it will not record.
have you seen the 'original air-date' in picture 2 and picture 3?
(it's the same schedule, i only clicked on 'activate' to make 2 to 3...)

update:
to my last posting: no, it did not record.
after that i have discovered what was wrong/the cause!
after starting up of the KM-box, in the main screen ('watch tv .... utilities), i did:
alt-2
alt-s
in het appearing main screen (1. general, 2. capture cards, .. 5. channel editor) i activated the channel editor, and went to the channels which showed problems (eins plus, eins extra, eins festival).
ALL were having 'lnb-dish' (a self-chosen name in my initial setup) in the 'video source' box;
channels which were recording well did have 'astra 19.2e' in this box..
i changed this setting for all 3 'eins' channels to 'astra 19.2e' too..
after saving and making a test recording: the recording was done WELL (no green boxes as in my pictures any more).
hope this will help other guys.
thanks!
