i copied a lircrc file from another post in the forum and saved it to a Notepad text file in windows and called it lircrc.txt. I then uploaded the text file to a webpage of mine and used the wget feature on my linux box to retrieve the file. I then moved it into the /home/mythtv/.mythtv directory, made a backup of the original lircrc file and renamed the new one to lircrc. when i start up mythtv, the remote no longer works. is there some command i have to issue to the new lircrc file to make it function? thanks edit: found a workaround to this. I simply erased all the text already in the original lircrc file from my new one so all that was left in the new config file was the xine key maps. Then I uploaded that back to my webpage and used wget to save it to my /home/mythtv/.mythtv directory as lircrc.txt. Then i opened the original lircrc file and scrolled down to the botton of it, then issued the command ':r lircrc.txt' and it inserted the lircrc.txt file into the original lircrc file! i then used the command :wq to save changes and now the remote works! weee! note: if anyone wants the lircrc.txt file that i made, do this: Code: wget http://home.comcast.net/~pstolpackr/lircrc.txt

Could the problem have been the line breaks from Windows? There is a command dos2unix that will convert file formats. |
