Post subject:  Tricky: Tunerless/Channelless composite input?
I've got a rock-solid Knoppmyth setup using a PVR150 that's been just awesome. But now I want to do something new and I can't quite work it out.

I have my CATV coming into the coax input on my 150 and no problem. The card also has RCA (I guess they're called "composite" now) inputs. I'd like to hook up my switchbox to that, for things like my portable media player, various other TV-gadgets, and maybe a game console, rather than having to copy everything onto the mythbox before I can watch it (sometimes you just need Babylon 5 NOW!)

So I tried to set up another input, but it doesn't seem too amenable to a setup that doesn't have any channels. Has anyone gotten this to work with anything resembling success?

I have.
I just call it channel 1 and setup all the scripting that way.

There are a couple of post in here that I borowed from and also a good wiki article.

Search for something along the lines of Video tape or transferring tapes.

All those are likely candidates.

I'll look in tonight and see if I can add more when I am at my box.

Update: No dice. Trying to change the channel to 1 (the channel set up per the wiki page), it goes mute for a second then goes right back to whatever channel it was on.

If I change the tuner to use Composite 1 as the default input, it works, but then I can't watch TV. Pressing "C" while watching TV doesn't work either. The screen goes blank for a second like it's trying to change, then goes back to the tuner.

Update 2: Found Answer. It's an ivtv issue.

davej45 has a solution that works. Woo hoo. Now for a hack that doesn't record it with a blank name line in the media library. :)
