Running R5F27
I have a Schedules Direct Account and use Mythfilldatabase to update my myth box.

I am grabbing Satellite TV data and usually it works fine.
Every so often SD gets told from TMS that lineups have new additions. Since SD just presents TMS data through their connector at this time they have no control over the interaction.
In the SD forums multiple times that is stated and the solution is to tell Mythtv to not insert new channels automatically. I can't however find any references to that in my searching around here or the wiki.

Mos times it is not a problem but it can be troublesome when some of the line-ups get added that 'A" I don't have and "B" if they are inappropriate content.

TIA.
I know, I know I should update to R5.5 but time hasn't permitted that lately.

Bump!

Still looking for an answer.

It got kinda rough searching through my program guide with family here and suddenly I see a new channel added advertising a new show called "Hot Sl*ts in college" etc..

Write a wrapper script for mythfilldatabase. After the DL is complete you can either mark any new channels as not visible or even delete them from the DB. Search for "update_database.sh" with me as the author for a script that demonstrates the basic techniques.

I think this is what you're looking for. Seems to weed out new channels that show up on schedulesdirect until you manually add them.

mythfilldatabase --remove-new-channels

Thanks!

TJC I found your reference but I was unable to locate the referred to items in my system. Not sure about that yet.

mlbuser, I inserted your mentioned change into my mythfilldatabase command on the referred to page 7 of the Mth TV settings from tjc's discussions. It seems to work. Only time will tell...

Thanks again.
