Post subject:  no sound using mplayer-vdpau-nogui package

I opened a this task on flyspray, but wanted to post my issue here as well since not everyone reads flyspray.

I'm using the mplayer-vdpau-nogui package, I have no sound when playing video files using the vdpau options in mplayer, or the standard -vo xv driver. If I use the R6 included mplayer to view a file, the sound is there. I will gladly post any log files/additional hardware details, etc upon request (I’m just not sure what to post at this point).

Hardware: Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe mainboard using the onboard sound which ALSA has correctly identified and configured.

Mine was working just fine this morning. Make any changes to your mplayer config? Either in /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf or /home/mythtv/.mplayer/config?

Are you using digital or analog audio? What's the output of
Code:
aplay -L
and
Code:
aplay -l

What is the ao= option you're using with mplayer? Remember that command line mplayer options override your config files (And mythtv calls mplayer with the command line).
