I'm a little late to the game but just tried installing XBMC from the stable repos tonight. It seemed to install well but then complains about a missing libcdio.so.7. I tried the sometime fix of symlinking it to the existing libcdio.so.12, but that didn't work. Any ideas?

Is nharris or anyone else keeping up with xbmc? Looks like it hasn't been updated in awhile. I don't want to start messing with the source if someone is already working on packages.

Bumping my post from last year. Is anyone updating XBMC for R6 or is everyone just waiting for R7's public release? I'd like to get the advantages of an upgraded XBMC such as one database for multiple boxes, but I don't know the best way to update now that I have outdated pacman packages installed. Is the best way to uninstall from pacman and then compile XBMC from source? Is there perhaps another repository we can use with a more updated version of XBMC that won't break Linhes with the added dependencies?
