I've got my mythbox up and running. It's a backend system running on a dell P3-500 w/ 384MB of memory, 2 disk drives, PVR-250 capture card -- one for the O/S, one for the recordings. I am running into a problem I haven't seen described in the forums. For many of the recordings I see a "ghost image" in the upper left corner of the screen. The "ghost" is a replica of the image that is playing, but it is 1/4th full size, and it is all in a faint yellow color. I've updated to the latest non-beta version of the PVR-250 firmware, but it hasn't solved the problem. I do my playback on a remote machine using the web interface and VLC. Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas what may be causing it? THanks for any help you can provide. Marc |

The problem is solved. I've discovered that the problem only occurs when I am doing playback on my windows XP machine AND running a Nero Record concurrently with the playback. ie: If I start the playback of the recording after he Nero Recode job has completed, the "yellow ghosting" does not occur. The Nero record job was transcoding a totally different MPEG2 file to MP4 than the file I was trying to play back. |
