Hi, I'm looking to build a setup first for me and then one of my friend, only one question, the one for my friend would be a BackEnd server and 3 FrontEnd, if I only put two TV tuner, I understand that I can't listen to Live TV on the 3 FrontEnd at the same time, but if two FrontEnd is listening to LiveTV and a show is scheduled to be recorded, did one of the FrontEnd will be disconnected to allow the show to be recorded? If yes wich one will be choosen ? If no, can I make a suggestion for future development, allow FrontEnd priority controlled by the BackEnd, so the "Master Chief" of the house won't get cut from its LiveTV while childs FrontEnd will... And an other wish list is if two FrontEnd is listening to the same channel, make them share the same tuner. Oh and, an other question, wich kind of hardware will I need to have 1 BackEnd/FrontEnd and 3 FrontEnd. I know the FrontEnd would only be almost anything, I worried about the hardware required by the BackEnd. Thanks In Advance MageMinds |

Yes, one of the frontends will be disconnected. A message will appear on screen stating a record is about to start. You'll be given the option to continue watching TV or allow the recording to continue. It will probably be the first card defined in the db that will asked. If you search the forum, you'll find plenty for hardware advice. The power required would be based on if you got "software" tuners or "hardware" tuners. |
