Post subject: | Restoring Orphan Nuv Files to Database |
I restored my db from a previous backup after having made additional new recordings. Of course, the new recordings are now orphan files in the tv directory. Isn't there a script I can run to repopulate the database from my file list? I have done a great deal searching all day and have found a couple of messages from folks with similar problems but no solutions. I seem to recall having seen reference to a script to solve the problem but I now cannot find it. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? TIA, MikeE ( here's some keywords I tried in various combinations: restore database db nuv recordings script ) |

keep searching there is a script. I forget what it's called at the moment, but it's been referenced a few times here on the forums. It doesn't work exactly correct for mpeg2 recordings though. |

It's myth.rebuilddatabase.pl in usr/local/bin From looking at it, it looks like it prompts you to enter a title and subtitle for each episode it encounters in the directory. Not sure where to get that info from though, I certainly don't have them memorized. Certainly I could watch them all and make a list of the shows, hopefully they all show the episode name also ![]() [ keywords to help others searching : database db restore rebuild nuv tv recording show episode script synchronize ] |

Do you still have the links in the /myth/pretty directory? |

Yes, I do still have the files in myth/pretty ... I didn't even realize I *had* a myth/pretty! While certainly this gives me the list of files names to match to titles now ... would there perhaps be a script to do this automagically? Probably too much to ask... at least I can now re-enter them properly. Thanks!!! |
