Post subject:  R5A12 -> R5A15 upgrade, DVB SCAN not working

Howdy.

Ive just upgraded my Mythbox to R5A15.

I have a P-IV 1.7, SIS mobo, and 2 * K-world/V-tream DVB-T Cards

To get this working under 5A12 I had to compile a new kernel with patches so that it would recognise the Connexant DVB. After that it has been working a treat. HOWEVER...

I have just upgraded to R5A15. Figured Id do a complete install just because that way nothing I did would affect it.

It recognises my DBV cards fine. I can add them to setup, set up the EPG etc.
But I Cant Scan. It appears to hang at either 5 or 10%. I can cancel it, but Scan will not complete.

If I look at the Console window It Tunes, Locks, and then stops.

I can tune fine using tzap etc.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Nigel

I found with my DVICO FusionHDTV, it wouldn't scan unless I entered the transport frequency **and** bandwidth. You could try that.

I have done this. Ive actually added all of them (Learned that with 5A12)

It actually does scan, and lock on first channel, then litterally stops.

Have you tried scanning transports individually. I live in an area of Adelaide that is shadowed from the main transmitter. As a result I receive a repeated signal, so my frequencies are different to the normal frequencies for each channel. If I try to scan all transports, it seems to attempt to tune to one of the standard frequencies (even though I did not enter that frequency). I assume it gets this information from the first transport it tunes to somehow, but as a result, it just hangs. I got around this by scanning the transports that I had entered one at a time.

I sure have.

Like I said : I had it working with 5A12. All of the steps are the same : I had to make sure that the bandwidth was specified.

This just stops once it locks onto a channel. A12 scanned for all channels

Oh well, sorry I couldn't help. Those were the two things I had trouble with.

Egads! Who let another Nigel in here :)

Nige, I am not familiar with that card, but you may have to wait a while for its updated drivers to work their way into an official kernel, and in the mean time rebuild the kernel in R5A15 and any future alpha releases. Sorry.
