I like most people hate the fact that dvb hasnt got a good signal strenght tester for alinging an antenna. i miss the old


So here is a work around.. i just rmmod all the cx88_*'s by hand.. and even the blackbird one.. i dont know what is the minumum ones you need to rmmod. then you just modproble cx88_atsc and check


it should say module found and set to video0 then you can just run dtvsingal /dev/video0 12 (or whatever channel) and see signal strength!!!! now just restart your computer(rmmod doesnt last past a reboot) when the antenna is aligned and bam!! you have dvb drivers again!! very quick handy thing!

Looking at you post it would only work with cx88* type chipsets, can this method be used with other chipsets?

as i only have an HD3000 i dont know =( Why dont you try, a reboot fixes all the rmmod's so there is no harm in trying.. also let us know
