I currently have Knoppmyth running well, but for the time being I am using the TV out on my Geforce card until I get the PVR-350 TV out working correctly. I can see the TV out fine on the tv but it is a bit off center towards the bottom and I have black spaces on the right, left and top. Is there a utility I can use to adjust this? Or some parameters in my XF86Config-4 that I can mess with? Thanks

apt-get update
apt-get install nvtv
Or if you have a GeForce 4 you can use the TVOUTOverscan, see th nvidia docs for more info.

yes just a quick note nvtv does not work with gforce4 and up, you have to use the config options in XF86Config-4. nvtv works fine for gf3 and down.

Well I have a Geforce 4 so I guess I am going to do some searching around on how to adjust the TV out.

In the knoppmyth instructions there is a link to the nvidia driver readme file. The adjustments are in there. They are a ways down in the apendixes I think it's apendix J but don't quote me on that.

The problem with the driver for GeForce4 cards is that the tvoverscan option is a ratio... basically to increase the height, you also have to increase the width.

One day I may live to see an actual consumer video card be able to display SVIDEO output at the standard that tvs, vcrs, dvd players, and everything else does. I'm very much amazed as to how little time the video card companies put into their drivers for this part.

shaking head at disgust at ATI and NVIDIA for their SVIDEO output

I read somewhere that overscan causes flickers during menu and such. I am experiencing this too.
