you set your channels by creating a video source, the problem is I don't know of a video source for Australia. You can try searching on the forum and the wiki and the mythtv mailing lists, as I know I've seen numerous people asking about Australia. and I think we have a few on this board that are from Australia, but I thought they were all using dvb though I seem to remember one not too long ago that was also using bttv which kind of threw me for a loop. |

tv_grab_au is in R5. It uses d1.com.au as a video source. This server is a bit unreliable, but it is the only legal source so far. In the setup program, you set a programme data source (3. Video Sources, new, give it a name, set it to Australia, hit the Finish button, then Alt-Tab to get the text window, then wait a while and type in the appropriate responses). Then, link the card to that data source (4. Input connections). Next, go to the channel editor, and for the channels you have defined, match them to an XMLTV id (like free.Sydney.9.d1.com.au). When you exit setup from the initial KnoppMyth install, I think it runs mythfilldatabase automatically. If you are doing this after the initial install, just run mythfilldatabase yourself. |

I am using 5a16 and when I select the tv_grab_au it starts loading something then stops at 50% and freezes. Aver DVB-t 771 Celoron 500, 320mb ram GeForce 4 MX with tv out. |

So I got past the au_grab bit and have now setup the channels under scan channels, it seems to work, but some of the channels, especially 7 and 9 are stuttery, and sometimes don't even have sound. Was I supposed to config the channels manually as I did using the frequencies from www.dba.org.au or am I supposed to let the tvgrab do it, or am I supposed to select add channel in the stup for every new channel??? so confused... but from what I have seen I like... |

SO where do I find a list of the address that I have to set my channels to, like free.Sydney.9.d1.com.au I can just tune the channels and most of them seem to work, but I can't record, probably cause it thinks they are all the one channel? |

Well, in the tv_grab_au script, I selected Sydney, Free To Air, and added channels ABC, 7, 9, 10, and SBS, so the XMLTVIDs were free.Sydney.ABC.d1.com.au, free.Sydney.7.d1.com.au, free.Sydney.9.d1.com.au, free.Sydney.10.d1.com.au and free.Sydney.SBS.d1.com.au. Ans I assigned the channel numbers 2, 7, 9, 10 and 28. Make sense? Have a look at the file ~mythtv/.mythtv/video-source-name.xmltv where video-source-name is the name of your video source. It should list the channels defined for that video source. |

I have tuned all the free-to-air channels according to the dba.org.au listings for Adelaide, but some (I think the 7 ones from memory) have no sound, but the others work fine. If I manually set them to tune according to the dba.org.au frequencies, what else can I do to get sound?? Is the lack of sound likely an antenna issue or what? Thanks Mick |

Antenna issue unlikely. Try Pressing + or - to select the audio track. For some reason this seems to be a little bit broken in 0.18.1 (even though the changelog says it was fixed (I dont have a problem on my production box running 0.18, but I noticed it when I was trying 0.18.1). |

Thanks, Greg, I'll try that when I get home. Cheers Mick |
