So, I followed your most excellent directions to the letter (I think). Everything works as it should, right up to the point where i run irw and the lircd daemon shows a new connect on /dev/lircd.

But pressing keys gets nothing. nada. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm looking for (I've sucessfully troubleshot and setup a PVR-350 Hauppage remote).

dmesg shows the following:
Code:
lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61

lirc_atiusb: USB remote driver for LIRC v0.4
lirc_atiusb: Paul Miller <pmiller9@users.sourceforge.net>
lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin: sample_rate: 0
ieee1394: Host added: ID:BUS[0-00:1023]  GUID[004063500004839c]
lirc_atiusb[2]: X10 Wireless Technology Inc USB Receiver on usb2:2
usbcore: registered new driver lirc_atiusb

I don't know if the fact that the lirc_dev shows an IR Remote load as well makes a difference or not. but my R1000-1 sure doesn't seem to be giving me any love... :(

later,

paul

Found the problem - something to add to your documentation. When running lircd -n or just lircd, the default lircd.conf file was actualy /etc/lircd.conf, rather than /etc/lirc/lircd.conf. So I move out the /etc/lircd.conf file and created a softlink into /etc/lirc/lircd.conf.

Whammo. Everything worked.... :)

regards,

Paul

You are absolutely right. Depending on how and which lirc is installed, it will either look int /etc/lirc/lircd.conf or /etc/lircd.conf

I will edit the doc to reflet that. Congratz on ur new remote. I will also add the part to the lircrc that will let you use your remote in nuv2disc.

Thanks again for pointing out that /etc/lircd.conf thingy :)

Jay.
