Myxer is a skinning module for mythtv that gives you the ability to change several parts of your themes

Download Myxer for mythtv

Code:
wget http://www.willoliver.com/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_download/gid,1/Itemid,8/

Extract the file to /usr/share/mythtv/themes/Myxer

Code:
tar -xzvf myxer.tar.gz /usr/share/mythtv/themes

You can then enter and run the MyxerCustomizer.sh script in /usr/share/mythtv/themes/Myxer/

Code:
./usr/share/mythtv/themes/Myxer/MyxerCustomizer.sh

MyxerCustomizer NOTES:

There is now a folder in the theme called "MyxerCustomizer"

In that directory is an executable script that allows you to easily customize backgrounds, highlighting, colors, styles and icons.
Browse to the correct directory (usually located at /usr/share/mythtv/themes/Myxer/MyxerCustomizer.sh or /usr/local/share/mythtv/themes/Myxer/MyxerCustomizer.sh) and make sure your user has write permissions here.
Open a terminal here (Make sure that your terminal window is reasonably tall to see all of the available options)

Execute the MyxerCustomizer script (sh MyxerCustomizer.sh)
Follow the instructions on the screen
See the option descriptions below for more information

Launch Mythfrontend, and notice the changes. If your changes didn't take effect like expected remove your themecache (usually found in ~/.mythtv/themecache/Myxer***)
Report to me any cool combinations, or if you have any neat items I should include in the future.

I then added the web component for easy of use. The command line can be difficult to use.

How to install the myxer configurator
Download this tar file. Extract it with "tar xvf myxer.tar". A directory Myxer_conf will be created. This directory has to be accesible in your webserver, in my case, I simple have it as /var/www/Myxer_conf.

That's it. Point your browser to your webserver and browse to the Myxer_conf directory you just extracted.
Live demo (be gentle with clicking around).

Any updates are welcome.
Any mirrors are welcome.
Stuff to do / check if you want to install this yourself:

- You have to put the Myxer theme files somewhere on your webserver, doesn't mather where

- The variable Myxer_dir in the file common.php has to point to the place where you have put the Myxer theme files (it checks per default for myxer in /usr/share/mythtv/themes/Myxer/MyxerCustomizer, /usr/local/share/mythtv/themes/Myxer/MyxerCustomizer and /usr/local/Myxer/MyxerCustomizer)
- You need a webserver with php + gd support. In debian you need the package php4-gd

- The Myxer theme config files are not updated, you still need to run MyxerCustomizer.sh

I also update some of the images to clean up the output:
- removed the file background_test.jpg in custom backgrounds
- renamed all background_metal1.jpg to background_metal_1.jpg (added a "_")
- renamed background_plasma.jpg to background_color_plasma.jpg

Something you can choose as a bonus, is the titles. You can choose between myxer and G.A.N.T. This is something you can NOT choose in Myxer.

Download the file

Code:
wget http://www.docum.org/staf/mythtv/myxer.tar

I created a folder called Myxer_conf

Code:
mkdir /var/www/Myxer_conf

Extracted the download to this folder

Code:
tar xvf myxer.tar

copied the extracted files to the Myxer_conf folder

I then made and edit of the http.conf file in /etc/apache to add the directory....

here is a picture of my current theme----

I'll have more of a howto on my website in a few days http://willoliver.com
