Hi There!

I'm not having any luck getting xmame to see my joystick.

Has anyone gotten this working? I've followed the instructuions, to no avail.

My joystick IS working, and tests fine with jstest /dev/js0
Also runs fine in snes9x

Just not xmame!

Any ideas?

Tried xmamerc, command line, and can't seem to get into the "tab" setup page within xmame???

Thanks!

I DO have the same problem.. I have a USB gamepad pro (working in SNES and NES emulator). It's probably an error in the xmame configuration file but I'm not familiar with it. There is the config I tried for the input controller:

### Input Related ###
joytype 1
analogstick 0
usbpspad 1
mouse 1
joydevname /dev/js0

I tried any joytype from 1 to 7 (just in case ;) ) but the xmame always says: "no joystick found, disabling joystick support"

anyone can help me ?

I'm having the same problems with my USB Gravis Gamepad Pro. Also have you been able to get fullscreen to work for snes roms? I've looked on these forums and MythTV forums.

The problem w/ joystick and XMAME is related to how MythGame passes the options to XMAME. If you specify a configuration for a game and configure MythGame to pass the joystick option to the game it will work. By default, MythGame will blah, blah, blah... You need to patch MythGame it order to fix this, this was something I discovered yesterday myself(don't play games much anymore...).
Here is the patch.

You don't configure MythGame to use a joystick, the emulator has to support a joystick. The only emulator I use is XMAME and it works fine w/ a joystick (i386 joystick).
