Newbie to linux and myth here! Great job guys, Watching movies on it as we speak. Running the newest version of KnoppMyth and it ran right out of the box on a 2.4 Intel, intel MB, on board nic, Old Gforce mx2 400,have tv out working too. I have searched the forums and se that nvtv will help with the "small video box" on my tv. But when I run it from xterm I get "not compiled for GUI" This is after an apt-get and apt-update.

Thanks!

Thats interesting, I was just taking rarefluid thru the process of setting this up and he had no probs getting the gui to work from the apt-get version. Are you sure you are not still running the old one (perhaps the one that comes with knoppmyth is /usr/local/bin/nvtv and the apt-get version is /usr/bin/nvtv).

I never said you didnt have the most recent version. If your path goes /usr/local/bin:/usr/bin and you have an nvtv executable in both places (/usr/local/bin/nvtv being the one that came with knoppmyth and /usr/bin/nvtv being the one that apt-get installed), when you run nvtv you will always still get the old one even if the new one is installed. Please check that this isnt happening.
