Hi *

Simple question: how can I enable autorepeat mode when I use remote ?

Currently, i.e when I'm going through long list of entries, I have to do all the time push-release, push-release,... button on remote for walking on list.

With autorepeart feature I simply want to press and hold button on remote - Myth should automatically scroll list...

How I can do that ?

you didn't give any hardware details. I have the old hauppage gray remote that works "out of the box" and it autorepeats, though it does it slow enough that it's acutally much faster to just push release.

You may try to lower the repeat value (if set anyway) in your ~/.lircrc like this (the lower the faster):

begin
prog = mythtv
button = Down
repeat = 1
config = Down
end

if this does nothing then maybe some manual tweaking of your /etc/lircd/lircd.conf file may help.
Play around with the 'repeat' and 'gap' value (make a backup first ;)

Xsecrets,

Thx for replay.

HW is: EPIA10K, PVR250, R5A16.

Remote is Medion6461.
LIRC.conf is generated myself (via irrecord).

IMHO lirc.conf file should be OK - launching irw shows properly working autorepeat...(I receive series of the same events when button is hold).

i.e. pls see irw output when Menu button was pressed & hold 2 times for 2sec each time:

000000000000174e 00 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 01 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 02 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 03 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 04 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 05 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 06 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 00 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 01 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 02 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 03 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 04 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 05 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 06 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)
000000000000174e 07 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)

I have impression like in my case lircrc is executing everytime only one event:

000000000000174e 00 Menu Medion_6461_(CD;_DevID=350)

BTW: In my lircrc I'm not using "repeat = " at all.

bugmenot,

IMHO: I always thought "autorepeat =" is a way to slow down working autorepeat... in my case autorepeat is simply not working at all.
In my lircrc I'm not using at all "autorepeat ="

Nevermind - thax for trying help !
