Hello. I have recently installed KnoppMyth on my system:
https://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=1731325
Intel Pentium 4 processor, 1.6 GHz
400 MHz frontside bus
512 MB 133 MHz SDRAM memory
120Gig Western Digital HD
http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_pci_boards.html
WinTV 878 or 848 based PCI boards or Impact VCB's

When I go to watch TV the playback is horribly slow and skips constantly. I'm unable to watch anything live.

If I record a show, one hour, it taks 4.0gigs and again, I am unable to watch it because the video playback is so choppy/skipping.

Can anyone please help me get my video watchable? I know it's possible because I had Myth+Redhat installed on this machine about two years ago and it worked fine!

Thanks!

well generally that is an xv issue. make sure you are not using the vesa driver. not sure what type of video card that machine has looks like some sort of onboard, but whatever it is you need to find the proper driver for it.

Ok, thanks for that tip. I changed from vesa to radeon (I've put in an ATI Radeon 7000)

I can now watch videos which I have pre-recorded, however watching live TV is still really choppy.

Any other tips?
