OK I have searched for this answer the best I can, but not found anything, so here goes.

I have a backend latest version knoppmyth running, and have had for a couple of months.
I use it to schedule recordings and the like, all good.
I have been grabbing the recorded programs and burning them to dvd to watch, or watching on the computer.

Tonight i decided to build a front end box, and all has gone relatively smoothly, and I can now watch live tv and do all the things that I want except watch the recorded programs.

Is there a simple reason why that when i browse the recordings I get a black preview and when i go to play it does absolutely nothing?

Live TV works a treat, but recordings, no go.

Backend is a P3 1ghz, 512mb ram, avermedia dvb-t 771 card
Frontent is a P3 500 with a nvidia gforce 4 440mx graphics card

also while I am at it, if i am watching soimething on live tv and hit the 'r' key to record, it punts me out of the live tv watching saying to watch the recorded stream.
Shouldnt it let me watch the same channel as recording?

cheers

Andrew

Not sure on your first Q, but could it be because mysql has networking disabled (default config)

When you are recording live TV you need to go into the recordings section to watch it at the same time.

No, SQL is definately enabled as liveTV works from the frontend.

It seems a bit odd to me that you have a frontend/backend setup that gives the ability to watch livetv from the frontend with the ability to hit a key to record a program that you are watching, then boot you out of what you are watching.

I figured it out (kinda surprised no-one had a clue what the issue was)

I didnt have any NFS shares setup to mount the /myth folder from the backend to the frontend.

I did that and it is all good now
