I have KnoppMyth (build R5A22) running perfectly with a Hauppauge 500 & EPIA-M 10000 board. This machine is being used only to record shows, and so far I've been able to record two shows at a time with no problems.

ANyway, what I've been doing is copying the .nuv files and using Mencoder to create .avi files that I watch on one of my other machines or on my Xbox. The process seems a little tedious though. I have to initiate every part of it, and then babysit the process, remember what I was doing when it finishes, and move it where I want it to live.

How do you guys handle this? Can my mythTV box move all .nuv files to my Dual G4 Apple machine, have it run the mencoder process and then move those encoded files where they need to be? Even if it pushed all of the .avi files onto a folder on the Apple, I would be happy with that.

Also, is there any problem with my process, which would make MythTV keep recording the same shows? So if I remove an episode, encode it, move it where I want it, etc., then delete the recording from the MythTV box, is it going to know that it already recorded it? The box has only been running for 2 days, so I don't know for sure if this is even an issue. just trying to think ahead.

Thanks a ton! I'm so happy I waited for the R5A22 release, it was *so* easy, compared to the gentoo and FC install I tried last time.

I'm pretty sure mythtv remembers every show it's recorded. If you go to the upcoming recordings section it lists a P next to shows it has recorded previously and won't record again.
