Post subject: | Using pcHDTV and/or PVR-350 with non-RF inputs |
This question is a mix of hardware and setup - I'm not sure which forum to post it in... Ok, I finally got my system working after finding much "picky interaction" between setup stuff.. but in the end - it's working. It's cool. I'm excited.. Let's review: I put in my cards. I set up my channel lists. I assign a channel list to an input on a card. I fill the database (because I have LIST changes - but does that apply to card to list changes?) Theoretically, if I have IRblaster set up I can use say my PVR-350 to watch DishTV on S-Video0 (with a DishTV ch:list) or the SAME PVR-350 to watch RF sources like CATV or US-BCAST (with the appropriate list) but NOT BOTH. Myth should be able to figure out if DishTV (S-Video) has a show that has a higher priority, switch that cards input to Svideo and record. Do I have that right? BTW: Does anyone know if the MPEG encoder is used for the non-RFinputs on the PVR-350 or hd3000? So moving on, I'd like to take my pcHDTV card (don't laugh) and use it as a second S-Video/Composite/CATV source for now... (the HDTV download2db is broken and I'm not seeing much on hdTV I want to watch anyway...) Here are my questions: Which kind of card do I set up the pcHDTV3000? It's exists on /dev/video1 and I can see if it I used either HD3000 or Video4Linux cards. If I do either, I can add the card, associate a channel list to S-Video - but Myth still insists on using the Tuner EVEN though the default (for either card type) is S-Video and the ch:list association is only applied to S-Video while the "Television" input is "none". Any thoughts? -Ben p.s. what have people done to fix the database channel problems with Zap2It? (in Phoenix, we have ones like 81 (KAET-HD) which works but the database lists as 8_1 on 29-1 which doesn't work.) UPDATE (by me): Hey! Look in /usr/local/bin/DVB_fixer.sh (or some such). Has anyone used this yet? [/b] |
