Post subject:  Atari Roms

Hi,

I've got R5A26 installed, and I have fceu working sweet (2 player, full screen, etc). I also have N64 (mupen64) working to some extent in mythgame which is also somewhat related to this issue. I have '/myth/games/atari/roms' with a few roms in it, and I set the stella settings through the mith game interface. It finds my NES and SNES Roms, but not my N64 or 2600 roms.

If I go into the mythconverg db and manually insert a line into gamemetadata with 'system = Atari' 'romname=ROM' 'name=rom' (not sure about the exact column names as I'm not near the mythbox now) every thing works fine, and when I set up mupen64 in place of the Odyssey2 binary and manually insert the N64 rom into the mythconverg DB everything works like a champ.

My question is this, where does the script which probes the /myth/game directories exist? Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

There is no script that I'm aware of... This is a function of MythGame.

So I either need to script something in perl/bash/python to ls the directory and generate a .sql file, or install from source and change the mythgame source to find the atari roms?

Before you spend too much time on it, R5A22 (and probably the next R5A3x release) use Myth(game) 0.19, which allows you to set up new emulators/players very easily, or change the settings used...

nickread: sounds like you've got some experience with 0.19 mythgame.

I'm trying to set up a "PC game" (i.e., something like tuxracer). Do you know how to do that? Does 0.19 still use gamelist.xml?

thanks!

R5A22 (Myth0.19SVN) is very easy, you just create a 'player'. Then you can enter the exact command line necessary to start the game and any parameters. You can also specify the working directory. I haven't had to touch any xml files...
