I am searching and searching for a program for windows that will play the mpeg file that i save my video to everything i download says that the file type is not supported does anyone know of a program that will work? |

There's more than one way here are a couple; 1. Use mythstream from the web interface, it will convert the files on the fly. Very kewl 2. Use the dsfilters located on sourceforge.net . BTW if you havn't been there you should go there and do a search for mythtv you will find all kinds of goodies. http://sourceforge.net/projects/dsmyth |

What type of capture card are you using? I use a pvr-150 and have no problem reading the .nuv files that are written by it. I belive this is the case with most if not all mpeg2 encoder cards. Are you by any chance transcoding after the recording? If so, the video is nolonger in mpeg2 format. It is in nuppelvideo format. The only player that I know of for windows is mplayer. It worked well for me on the few files I tested it on. The downside to mplayer on windows, is there is no gui for it. You have to know the hot keys for full screen, pause, play , volume and things like that. mike |
