Ok ive seen this covered in a previous post but i couldnt really get what the post was describing to work. Basically whats goin on is i have a pvr-150 and a pvr-350 and they are both setup for analog as default but when i schedule a recording it records svideo for some reaosn but that is a seperate issue. When i get that issue cleared up i was wondering if it is possible to when i tune to my digital channels (180-212) if i can have it switch to svideo. For some reason even when i have svideo setup as default input and i set to record a digital channel the name of the show comes up like it was recorded but it doesnt get recorderd and i would like to keep analog as i record more shows from analog tv.

You have a complicated setup. I think what you need to do is have two seperate "video sources" in mythtv-setup. One should only include the digital channels and the other should only be the analog channels. The digital "video source" is of corse connected to the s-video input and the analog source to the tuner. Then when you schedule a recording mythtv will beable to use the correct input on the pvr-150/350.

ok so what your saying is regardless of what the default input is set to if i set up the sources and inputs properly myth will determine what input to record? in other words if i set a Analog source to lets say channesl 1-10 and digital to 11-20 and i assign analog to the tuner and the digital to svideo myth will auto determine what input to be on?

Wouldn't be much use if it didn't... ;-) You do have to get the mappings right via the "input connections" under mythtv-setup, but once you've got that sorted out, it should just do the right thing. You can even prioritize the cards with a preference score so that if one makes better recordings that one will be used whenever possible.

i tried it and it worked out :D this also fixed what i thought was an unrelated problem where it was always recording svideo. This is basically one of the last big steps to getting knoppmyth working properly and i am very happy with the results so far. The last thing i gotta do before i am completly happy is get this stupid ir blaster working lol. Thanks for both your help and suggestions!!!

after some more testing it seems that i can only record digital channels if i hit watch live tv then set myth to the digital channel witch tunes to the input and labels the recording properly. If i schedule a digital recording and set my settop to the channel it needs to be on it doesnt record any thing and makes myth lock up for a couple seconds when i go to delete the file. Any suggestions does this mean i need a change channel script?
