So when I select my program guide while watching live tv by clicking m for menu and select program guide. it comes up for about 1 second and then freezes and exits mythtv. I thought the update to 0.19 might of fixed it but no. Also I thought it could have been because there wasn't enough ram since it said there was only 6mbs free in my system info so I put in another 128 mbs to bring my total to 260ish mbs. No success with either. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have a PVR-500, 300 gb HD, MSI PM8M-V Socket 478 Motherboard, Intel Celeron 340 2.93Ghz 533FSB Socket 478. Everything else works fine just the program guide.

Have you got the "missing icons" problem? That genrally results in sluggish behavior rather than the front end bombing however. Is there anything in the front end logs? http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=CheckingLogFiles

Now Which log should I check? There a quite a few?
* /var/log/dmesg - boot time hardware detection and driver setup
* /var/log/messages - general system messages, includes most of what is in dmesg if it hasn't "rolled over".
* /var/log/syslog - like the "messages" log, but sometimes includes other details
* /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log - status logs from the MythTV backend server
* /var/log/mysql/mysql.err - errors from the database server (usually empty!)
* /var/log/daemon.log - service tasks like lircd
* /var/log/kern.log - if something's gone wrong in kernel module, you may find something here.
* /var/log/XFree86.0.log - start up log from the X server (GUI environment)
* /home/mythtv/.xsession-errors - output from GUI programs like the MythTV frontend or Xine
