Upgrade related problems should be in somewhere besides General as more and more people run myth systems, we will have lots of upgraders once that upgrade thing works well... I had quite a few issues that I'd like to iron out with other upgraders. Thoughts? |

I figure upgrades fall under KnoppMyth install. - Upgrading with the latest ISO is essentially an install. - Real upgrade issues are probably much closer to the intended use than most of the stuff that gets posted there and drives our good host nuts.

I would argue that can be the case one day, but for now, since there are obviously several key steps in upgrade and those are somewhat loosely defined in forum posts and upgrade instructs on the .tv site which do not cover it all. I've answered cesman's solication for writing more help docs, I want this area to be clean, I think we can attract lots of peeps if we can get the upgrade path smoothed out. Until that happens, I think a forum specifically geared for it is a good thing... even if its temporary. |
