| Post subject: | Comcast Throttling Bittorrent |
Evidence is mounting that Comcast is sabotaging user's trying to seed with BitTorrent. A simple web search turns up bunches of hits. I started seeing this back with the release of R5F27. I posted in this thread that I was not getting many peer connections when I was trying to seed the KM iso. My post is on the top of page 2, About 3 posts after that Human (the tracker owner) posted something about just how popular that torrent was. Now, I can see them wanting to squash pirate torrents, but BT is pretty much the preferred method for distributing most linux distros. There's nothing even remotely questionable about the KM iso. <paranoid>Nothing except for the fact that it competes with their DVR offering.</paranoid> Hmmm. What really surprises me is that for the first time in my life, I'm rooting for the FCC to do something. |

Get used to rooting for the FCC, not that it will do any good. If you haven't yet, I recommend you join EFF (http://www.eff.org) and send them a donation. They seem to be the only ones fighting for our "fair use" rights. |
