The deal is at both the retail store and Fry's.com. There's a limit of 1 at the retail store, but there does not seem to be a limit at the online store. Unfortunately it's not a "Ships Free" item online. :(

Gotta love that just in time for the kill-a-watt tests to lower out power consumption

Apparently Fry's has now put a limit of 1 at the online store as well. :(

It's ok, as that price will come down as well. Right now, a sweet deal is the 750 refurbs at geeks.com. I build a FreeNAS server with a pair of them last week - twin 750 SATA 300s (Seagate) and another 200GB Maxtor - the whole thing draws 57 watts on the Kill-a-watt, and goes to 49/50 at night when we're not using it much.
Large drives definitely seem to be a way to "go green", compared to using 3-4 smaller, older drives.

That's pretty good on power. What are the hardware specs on your FreeNAS server?

I used an old e-machine celeron 633, with integrated video, 128MB RAM. Added a Rosewill 150 SATA RAID controller. Tried for HW RAID, couldn't quite get it working right. So it's using software RAID 1 for mirroring the two 750 drives.

The e-machine chassis didn't have enough HD bays, and I was afraid of the 120w power supply. So I transplanted the MoBo into a generic tower case with a 300w power supply. Added the two SATA drives, another 200GB IDE drive and CD drive. It's booting from CD now, storing the config data (just one file - config.xml, containing the drive config, user accounts, etc..) on a 512MB thumb drive. I added a 90mm fan, blowing on the two 750GB disks, which lowered the temp from 40c to 32c.

So that's two 750GB drive mirrored, plus another 200GB, on 100MBit ethernet. 50 watts idle, 57 or so with moderate load.
I've chronicled this on my blog:

I have found FreeNAS to be an excellent product, much like our beloved KnoppMyth....

Speaking of that, I'm looking forward to experimenting with using the FreeNAS as auxiliary storage for KM, when storage groups are here.

The deal on those "only one per customer" deals. If you go to the store, they'll let you buy two at the register as long as you ring it up with two chargecards on different receipts. Then throw 'em in the trunk.

Later, rinse, repeat as many times as needed.
