Due in large part to cesman's push from Debian to Arch for R6, I have been playing with Arch on my main desktop for a week or so and have now got it to the point where I'm happy with it. Debian and Ubuntu both served me well after switching from Windows XP to first Debian then to Ubuntu (Debian didn't keep their packages up-to-date for my tastes). After playing with Arch on R6 and seeing the very up-to-date packages both in the official repos as well as in the AUR, Cesman is right, package management in Arch really does rock. Anyway, I finally switched over :)

The arch wiki is also excellent. I'd encourage anyone looking to try it to read the Beginner's guide wiki page which walks you thought it. Rock on with R6 and thanks to cesman, jams, tjc, and all the others for making R6 the best damn mythtv distro.

Arch is an absolutely fabulous distro. I'm not especially experienced in the linux world, but i've played with both Slackware and Ubuntu previously, and have been very very happy to call Arch home for the past couple years =)

Just to pile on I switched my main workstation to Arch/Fluxbox about 3 weeks ago. My station is now lightning fast (previously I was running Debian Lenny with Gnome), so thanks to Cecil!
