Dude! We're NEIGHBORS now! I live and work around San Tomas between Walsh and Monroe. Where's your new digs? We have to try La Paloma on El Camino...

We're located very close to the intersection of Great America Parkway & Highway 237. The ride in this morning was "interesting". There aren't any bike lanes on many parts of Fairoaks -- there were several times when the cars passed me with what seemed like only a few inches of clearance.

So, who's in for Saturday?

Yep.. I'm "IN". I'm still working on another guy in the east bay, he seems pretty interested. I hope Cecil could make it! That would be a BONUS.

Sounds good -- I'll meet you guys at noon. Looks like first one to arrive should grab a table for 4.

Brian, if you friend decides to go let us know and we'll up the count to 5.

Cecil, let us know if you're going to make it -- we'd love to see you there!

My friend Jake is going to join us, so we're definitely up to 5. Also, I ordered a new toy -- the Egreat M35A Networked Media Tank. Here's a threadthat explains how one can use it as a mythtv front end. I'm hoping it arrives this weekend!

Great! We're up to 6 so first one there should get a table for 6. See you at noon!

I don't believe they take reservations, but I doubt we will have difficulty getting a table.

I double checked with Cecil and he won't be making this event. He'll let us know when he's in the Bay Area and we can do something then.

So if I'm the first one at Fiesta del Mar Too then I'm making the reservation in the name of "Cecil" of course!
:P

It would have been nice to try to coax Cecil into picking up the tab!

Great event! We didn't exactly solve "world hunger".. but it was a good time! :D

It was a great time. I'm afraid my handle might get changed to "liv2complain" however! It's always stimulating to spend time with people who have similarities -- and differences.

Thanks for posting pics! Associating people's forum handles with the pictures would be fun, with the owners consent, of course!

Go ahead and put the names on the pics. Oh. You want ME to name names!

Well I'll only give you hints. There were three forum regulars in attendance with two guests. All were present or past MythTv owners. Of the regular posters:

Liv2Cod, a.k.a. Joe Barnhart, originally hails from the state of New Mexico. "Land of the flea, home of the plague."

BluesBrian has very blond hair, what's left of it after numerous MythTv installs.

marc.aronson talks with his hands a lot.

I checked and Jake is fine with posting his name. He's in the last photo sitting with me. (I'm on the left with the red shirt.) Jake and I met at college in 1974 so we've known each other for 35 years.

On the other topic -- the NMT does make a great mythtv frontend. Plays everything including mpeg2 hidef and h.264. I'm going to do a wiki writeup on it over here.
