Someone would just have to suggest a restaurant near the host Fry's.
There's a sort of restaurant in Frys in Fremont, altho I've never actually walked in there.

Funny, I can't picture it. Most have a snackbar/coffee shop. Usually, we find better... then go to Fry's for gear! :D
Honestly, the only think that I can picutre there is the Jack-in-the-Box that's across the street.

There's Zorba's Deli Cafe, 46505 Mission Blvd, Fremont, CA .. this would be south on 680 at the mission blvd exit. Not too far off the mark.

Pick a time in March... I'd like to come up and meet everyone. I can fly up on a Friday and back my way on a Sunday. Let me know as far ahead in advance so I can make arranges (work and flight). I will need a place to stay. :)

A Cecil meetup would be great! I can't make the first weekend of March, but I'm open after that. Depending on the weekend, I could have an extra bedroom at my house, too. If you need to download any big files, you may want to try my 100M internet service!

If you wind up staying at my place I hope you aren't too disappointed in my KM box... I haven't upgraded to LinHES yet! :D

The "tap tap tap" image is hilarious, but also a good point.

OK -- my apologies -- things have been really crazy at work and I'm working on nailing down a business trip in March, but the weekend of March 6 looks like a safe bet.

Cecil, does that work for you? Also, you're definitely welcome to stay with us.

Oops. You picked the "first weekend in March" -- the only date I can't make. Is there any other possibility?

You know, this started out as "weekend of March 26th" .. and that's the Friday. We really mean the Saturday date.. right? .. so that would be March 27th.. right?
Did we settle on a "place"?

Let's schedule the gathering for Saturday or Sunday, based on works best for Cecil. In terms of location - I'm going to suggest downtown Palo Alto. I realize this is further for the east-bay contingent, but its the best location I can think of. If the weather is nice we can eat outdoors, its walking distance to Peet's coffee and a short drive to Fry's.

Cecil, do you have other plans for while you're in the area or are you coming in just for this? If the latter, I'm happy to play "tour guide" for the weekend. There are some fun spots in S.F. that I always take visitors to including:

1. The glass elevators at the St. Francis on Union Square.

2. Walk through China town -- your call as to weather or not you buy any stuff :-).

3. Visit to the cable car barn to see how the cable cars work.

4. Eventually wind up in Pier 39, where you can see the harbor seals.

It's a lot of walking but its fun -- let me know.

Anyone else that is interested is welcome to join us.

No, I've no plans... Would just like to get up and meet everyone. Have a brew or two... Do I have a place to stay yet?! I'd fly up on Friday and back down on Sunday.

No problem on the place to stay -- both Joe and I volunteered -- we'll sort it out. Do you need a pick up from the airport?
