Hi guys,

Great forum here. Seems like lots of help floating around. Good to see.

Anyhow, I downloaded and installed latest KnoppMyth. Everything seemed to install well... but I'm having a weird display issue. When KnoppMyth loads, regardless of what I set the resolution and/or color depth to, my display is AWFUL looking (reminiscent of an old VGA card that defaults to 256 colors but is trying to display a desktop that has 16-bit colors or something).

Anyhow, the odd thing is - if I quit MythTV and quit KnoppMyth, and return to that login area (where you'd log in as mythtv and then knoppmyth would load up)... that area displays perfectly. Crisp, clean, clear. Correct resolution and color depth. It's when KnoppMyth and MythTV load that the color depth is all screwy.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

My Hardware:
EPIA M board
Happaugua 250 tuner card
512MB RAM
200GB HDD

Jeff

Is it when X start or when you watch live TV that the colors are messed up? If it is live TV, you need to disable DMPS in XF86Config-4. If I remember correctly...This has been covered on the forum before.

This configuration is exactly what I have (down to the disk, and memory sizes).... say, you aren't really just my evil twin are you?

Anyway, I also had exactly the same problem. I added a couple of lines to my /etc/X11/XF86Config-4. Paste these lines into your XF86Config-4 file and I believe you could restart X11, but I cheated. Reboot time (the old Microsoft fix).

In the area with the label 'Section "Device"' add the following three lines:
Option "DPMS" "false"
Option "TVOutput" "S-Video"
Option "ActiveDevice" "TV"
