Hey guys,

I've just installed KnoppMyth and rebooted my machine. Now it asks for my login and password. I write both in and then it says this on a command line:

loginname@loginname:"$

What am I supposed to type here?

something went wrong on your install that's not where you should be try checking the md5sum of your iso and reburn at a slower speed. If it gave you an error before the login you need to let us know what the error is.

I just checked for errors before the login. All it is is a black screen with a long list of stuff being loaded and then it asks for my mythtv login...

i enter my username and password and then it says the same thing..

loginname@mythtv:"$

The only error I can see in the list is that it says missing kernel or user mode driver shpchp, but other than that, it looks fine.. I'll have to download the iso once again to check the md5sum.

you probably have a bad burn. If you don't get a gui or something telling you the xserver couldn't start or a blank screen the install had serious problems that are most likely caused by a bad burn.

I'm almost done downloading it again. I'll do a md5sum and burn it at a slower speed to see what happens...

You may also want to go back over the hardware that you had some student set up for you and make sure there are no more botches...
