I just installed KnoppMyth and I have everything setup (besides TV-Out)... but I am not able to access the box via SSH and also I cant get to the Web Based. I am doing this all from my local lan, and I know that the box can access the internet as it pulled all the listings. Anything I could be doing wrong? is there a Firewall that is enabled? Thanks.

There's no firewall installed by default.

Double check the IP address you're using to connect to the myth box. Maybe it's not at the address you think it is. SSH and mythweb should work out of the box. They did for me.

What errors are you getting? What URL are you using to access MythWeb?

I have the box set as 192.168.1.2 ... And cant access it via ssh (port 22) or port 80, or port 6436?(i dont have it writtent down but its the one that mythtv is supposed to run on) I dont get any errors except "Page not found" and "unable to connect" stuff like that. Any ideas? I have checked the /etc/networking/interfaces, looks fine, I have restarted ssh and network.

Like Liv2Cod said, both SSH and Apache should be up and running with a default KnoppMyth install (which version did you install, btw?). Going to http: / / 192.168.1.2/ should give you a page that will take you to MythWeb as well as MythTV docs (assuming you've installed the R5 alpha).

First, I could not connect using SecureCRT. I was able to connect using Putty. Only I was able to connect using root account not mythtv. However, my Putty connection drops in few minutes (less than 3 minutes). It is annoying.

How can I fix it? I am running R5A16.

Perhaps a workaround: putty has an option for "keepalives", packets to be sent every n seconds. Try setting that to a value other than 0 (and save it with the configuration you use!) to see if that works around the terminated connection problem.

Changing the keepalive time to 10 seconds (the idea is to give it a non-zero value and I arbitrarily chose 10 secs) worked like a charm. Thanks for the workaround.
