I am new with knoppmyth, had an installation on fedora1 for a long time and a diskless remote.

GREAT job on this distro, I installed R5A22 on a new machine on a 200Gig system disk and all seemed perfect, till things quit, come to find out I had a full / partition, mysql is logging so much...
I moved /var/log/mysql to the myth part and ln -s it back to it original place.

The only thing I could not get to work is the DVD. no function works and this is the same hardware I had using fedora.

Today I worked on getting my remote working and for the most part I got it done and had the same issue with mysql log.

Perhaps the installation could ask for the sizes of each partition??

How do I tell mysql not to log everything?

Great job.. this is the easier install I have done with myth.

Sergio

In mythfrontend setup there is an option somewhere called "log all events to database" or something. I think you might try deselecting that option.

Also, no need to relocate/symlink log files manully. Simply change the path to the logfile in the "log" line in /etc/mysql/my.cnf

Also, if you set up your cron to use "logrotate" to rotate ur mysql log files daily, u'll save tons of space.
