Got MythTV loaded and set up after some problems, my ignorance got the better of me and still is.

I'm not getting any guide info. It may be that I set the channel frequency wrong. I couldn't find any info for setting it correctly for DirecTV, so I figured I'd just adjust the settings until it was right. Problem is, I'm not sure how to do this after the install is complete.

With the newest version of do you still have to run the scripts to get the PVR-350 svideo out to work? I'm getting the interface on my comp monitor, but only snow on my tv.

Lastly, can anyone point me to a good linux tutorial? I read on over the weekend, but can't find it anymore and am a bit lost on how to find and edit the code, like suggested here.....

If you have an nForce chipset or any nVidia card, before running the command below, you may want to edit /etc/X11/XFConfig-4 and add
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "TV" # This is only if attaching to a TV.**

I think the answer to your first problem is that your tuner card is a cable TV tuner card, not a DirecTV tuner card. (This is assuming you're using your PVR-350 as a tuner and not just as video-out)

I don't have DirecTV but the only way I know of to use it with a PVR-x50 card is to run a video out from DirecTV to the video in of the PVR, use the DirecTV as the tuner, and use an IR blaster or serial cable to get MythTV to change channels.

I have my dish-->box-->pvr350-->svideo out-->tv.

I've run mythfilldatabase twice. It connected both times and said it was duplicates the second. When I go to the shedule, all the time slots are blank. If I press a button, I end up at the MythTV screen (penguin on the couch watching the tv), then I have to go to ctl+alt+f1 to get out.
