I've got a new Knoppmyth installation that has MythTV 0.20. I'm using this with a pchd3000. I've found a couple stations that work on my cable provider but other that are also unencrypted I can't get working.
I'm trying to understand if I'm missing something in my mythconverg/channel table or if something else is wrong.

Using old instructions I created a channels.conf file of stations that I got a lock on when I did: dvbscan atsc/us-Cable-Standard-center-frequencies-QAM256

I then pared that down to anything that showed video when I did: mencoder -v dvb://[] -o test.mpg -oac copy -ovc lavc

I then looked up the found frequency from channels.conf in the dtv_multiplex table, plugged that into the channel I want to use. I updated the sourceid, frequency and all sorts of things in the channel table but can't get MythTv to tune to any of my added channels.

Any tricks I should know?

Thanks!

Search around in the Gossamer boards (Mythtv.org), has been changes in MythTV .20 in regard to channel scanning and how it works.

These 2 are good resources from MythTV WIKI.

This is a good thread that deals with it well (more MythTV .19 based though)
