i don't know if DMA is on, i don't know how to check that.
i don't know what XV is.

when i play back a recording it's better than when watching live, but still choppy.

edit: also, i apologize for hi-jacking this thread. it happened accidentally.

No worries about the hijack. That's what we're here for.
To answer your additional question: I am still seeing the stutter during TV viewing, but it is almost non-existent when viewing playback of recordings.
I suggest a forum search for the "XV" and DMA settings, as I don't know them either, but I'm sure that they have been discussed here already.
