So this is my first Linux experience, am hoping I am not to old to learn something new..... Here is what I have: Lastest install of Knoppmyth. Tried to install but it would cack right after doing auto configuring devices...Read some threads and figured the Twinhan card was the issue. AFter pulling it, Knoppmyth installed fine. Read some more articles about the twinhan card and having to recompile kernels etc. Does anyone have any easy advice for what I need to do get the Twinhan card installed correctly, or a step by step guide for a "newbie" like me?? Thanks a bunch.... Derf |

Oh. That was an old problem that I thought had been fixed. If the kernel guys have broken it again I will be very annoyed 
Can you please confirm what version of KnoppMyth you have installed? You can do that in the GUI of the installed machine by opening an Xterm (Alt-X) and typing: Code: cat /etc/KnoppMyth-version
(Oh, and while you are there, typing dmesg|head will tell the kernel version. And exit will close the Xterm) |

Derf, I have been unable to reproduce this. Just did a fresh install on R5C7 on my home box, which has two TwinHan VP-3021 DVB-T cards. No problem. Both card's drivers were loaded, the backend has started, and I was able to watch Live TV. So I suspect it isn't the old TwinHan card problem. So, could I get you to provide some more information? KnoppMyth version, kernel version and last lines on the screen would be helpful. |
