Hello,

I'm looking for a description to get the MSI board K8NGM2-FID with on-board audio and video up and running using Knoppmyth R5C7.

I could get TV-out working by installing new NVIDIA drivers (8174).
Good.

But for the sound, seems I need to upgrade to kernel 2.6.16 and ALSA 1.0.11. However, after the kernel upgrade (either from kernel.org or using Debian's 2.6.16-1-k7), I cannot reinstall the NVIDIA graphics drivers any more.

Any hint for a good procedure to get the board working would be appreciated.

BTW - Great first post. Good hardware detail, enough about what you'd already tried, ... The kind of stuff that makes it easy to point you in the right direction. :D

The fix is simple :) you just need a later set of nvidia graphics drivers!
