Hi,
Here is my problem. I recorded shows and mythtv tells me they have been recorded. But when I try to play them, all I have is a black screen and nothing happens. Also, the picture to identify the recorded show is also black. Is the show recorded? If not, where is the problem.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hi oxtus,
Don't know if I can help, but I can at least ask some questions.
What version? R5B7 almost missed that.. Maybe try R5C7 ?
Upgrade 0r Install?
If upgrade from version to version?
Did you go through the mythtv-setup (alt s)?
Were you able to watch live tv before trying to record?
Are you able to use a second machine to view things with a browser?

We can start with these :)
Mike

Edited.

I will probably have to do this. Was there a bug fix for this problem in R5C7?

It was a full install. I am setting it up.

Did this.

I was able to "watch TV" (this is live tv, right?)

I have another computer but not networked with my linux box.

And I can still "watch TV".

Don't know it is would be linked but the channel numbers don't match the stations. (off by about three: 1->4, 2->5, 3->6, etc.)

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hi oxtus,
Thanks for the responses, helps make the "picture" a bit more clear for me anyway. I don't recall any issues with videos or recordings in B7 but sometimes my memory sucks a little.

Ok, one of your machines is not on the network.. assuming it is the "other one?" Reason for the dumb question is you mention offsets on the channel #.. that is not a good thing. Did you do you have a listing from labs.zap2it.com? (assuming usa) Not sure how the offset will affect the recordings but I would be almost willing to bet it does. If you tell it to record ch 4 and it thinks it is on 1 and nobody is home, you get the jist of it I am sure.

Let us know what the listing line up is like and how you obtain an rf signal.. off air / cable / sat box ?

What method did you use to select a record? Manual schedule, press "R" while viewing? How did you setup your channels? If you can view live tv, then with the proper setup, you should be able to record also. The devil hides in the details so give the folks those details and someone will be able to get you going.

As for R5C7 fixing bugs, I would consider it more of adding refinements :) And it just gets better and better! Considering how many different mother boards, cpu's, memory combinations, hard drive sizes, video cards, tuner choices, remotes and different countries it works in, a small tweak here or there, yawn. (no sleep lost here)
