I'm looking for a description to get the MSI board K8NGM2-FID with on-board audio and video up and running using Knoppmyth R5C7.

I could get TV-out working by installing new NVIDIA drivers (8174).
Good.

But for the sound, seems I need to upgrade to kernel 2.6.16 and ALSA 1.0.11. However, after the kernel upgrade (either from kernel.org or using Debian's 2.6.16-1-k7), I cannot reinstall the NVIDIA graphics drivers any more.

Any hint for a good procedure to get the board working would be appreciated.

BTW - Great first post. Good hardware detail, enough about what you'd already tried, ... The kind of stuff that makes it easy to point you in the right direction.

The fix is simple you just need a later set of nvidia graphics drivers!
