Hi! I use my LCD-tv as a computer monitor thru the VGA input. It's a Philips 17pf9945 widescreen tv. It accepts no wide formats on the VGA input, but only 1024x768. However it can strech the picture so that it fills out the whole screen. Weird if you ask me, since the LCD has 1280x768 physical pixels...I've tried different modelines for widescreen, but the tv can't work with these. That's also the best that philips can tell me. Hmmmm anyway, is there somewhere I can make linux (or perhaps just mythtv) compress the picture horizontally (making people in the picture tall and thin) so that if I make my philips stretch it afterwards I get a correctly dimensioned widescreen picture even though I only use 1024x768 pixels to fill out 1280x768 physical pixels? I hope this makes sense ![]() /Kris |

I think the 'W' key will cycle through a bunch of zoom/stretch modes. If one does what you want then you can change one of the playback settings so that that mode is used by default. |
