Hey, I just saw the Google has released Google Earth for Linux. Has anyone got it running on their knoppmyth system? I think that would be such a cool add-on. I downloaded it and can't figure out what to do next.

Yep works great for the most part.

Find where you downloaded it to and then run bash GoogleEarthLinux.bin.
You need to run it on the machine itself with the X11 output. You cannot install via ssh.

Hope this helps you on your journey

Considering that Google Earth uses WINE, you'd need WINE on the PPC. I'd have to say Google is your friend...

I thought Google earth was now native for Linux, but i'm gonna trust you Cesman. Does that mean they just packaged some sort of WINE with the google earth installer?

Yes and in the process, they submitted many bugfixes and or improvements to WINE.
