I just installed knoppmyth and i'm trying to install software via apt-get. I ran apt-get update but the only things that show up in synaptic are the programs that come on the cd. I tried adding sources but I can't figure out what to add. I have the stable ftp.us.debian.org source checked but I don't see anything else in synaptic. I would think this would be the main source for debian stable. I know i'm not supposed to use apt-get but I just need a few little programs. Anyone know what I need to do? |

Have you seen this? http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=SwitchingToStableAPTRepository I'm not sure how it differs using Synaptic but these steps would probably help in editing sources list and updating the package cache. I recommend you do it anyway before you apt-get anything. |

Thanks that helped me out. I think it must have been the non us repository that had most of the stuff that I needed. |
