This issue has been on this forum many times before and it might have been even answered, but me and my wooden eyes haven't found them...so Sorry for the spam...and BTW I'm a total newb what comes to linux

I just installed the latest version (R5C7) on of Knoppmyth, atleast tried...

I had WinXP pro and ubuntu in dual boot and working before I started..

Made a manual installation to hda6 and swap to hda7 and Boot record to mbr
Checked that both partitions is marked as bootable, during installation

After installation won't boot grub gives error 15 when it tries to load...
Won't reinstall for some reason to hda6...and can't boot anywhere

Any help would be appreciated

Now solved the problem
which by the way propably was that that I couldn't mount any partition from hda so that I would have more than read-only rights...

I succeeded so that I made one extra partition and installed ubuntu to that partition and it found all the other OS (windows and knoppmyth) automaticly...

Now trying to get all necessary drivers and settings...

Hardware:
AMD Athlon XP 2200+
MSI KT4V with via chipset
TechniSat Airstar 2 PCI
Sound Blaster Live!

Hi

As a hint for future KM upgrades, install lilo to partition not mbr, then edit menu.lst in /boot/grub/ to reflect the kernel (sample area vmlinuz-2.6.15-chw-2 ).

If you add in KM /etc/fstab your Ubuntu partiton, you can mount that partition and edit it from KM. Grub is cool :)
