I can't get this remote to work. I am running the latest version of Knoppmyth with no results. Which Hauppauge remote should I select? Any help would be great.

What does the remote look like? If you open the battery compartment and look inside do you see something like "A415-HPG"? Is it fatter in the middle than on the ends or narrower? Are the colored buttons in a square or a line? You're really not giving us much to go on.

If it looks like this picture and the sensor plugs into the PVR-250 board then it's probably the silver remote (type 16 c when you run lirc-reconfig.sh).

If it looks like this picture and the sensor plugs into the USB port it's an MCE remote.

The remote says R808-HPG-S on the inside of the battery compartment.

OK, that's the old "grey" remote just like I have. Rerun lirc-reconfig.sh as root and tell it type "16" (Hauppauge) "b" (grey remote). Frankly most of these remotes look silver/grey to me, which is why we started using pictures and descriptions.

Where you doing it as mythtv originally? You generally need to do stuff like this as root.
