Post subject:  Upgraded to R5D1, now have bizzare sound issue

I have searched and I can not figure out how to fix this issue.
Forsome reason in R5D1 it finds 2 sound cards. I have the onboard VIA card disabled, but it still gets detected and is setup as my main sound card. When I go to alsamixer it shows that card and not my card I want to use.

I run Alsaconf, and it finds my Hecrules fortissmo card and installs it. I then have to do a modprob snd-cs46xx and then go into alsamixer and reneable my optical out, resart the mythfront end. Sound works. But as soon as I reboot everything goes back to the VIA sound card. To get it to work I have to that all again.
How can I get knoppmyth to only load my snd-cs46xx driver? I have added the modprobe snd-cs46xx to the bootmisc.sh, but that didnt change anything.

On a side note, for some reason I cant get this version to see my previous recordings, but that is minor. I can work on that once my sound works.

Anyone have a link to an article that can help me, or have the fix?

Thanks
Mike

I had the same issue and ended up going back to R5C7 becasue of this and other issues with the new version.

I did figure out a workaround for my setup (Chaintech av-710) which was to change the myth sound output to adsp1 and then edit my asound.conf file so that all references to hw0,0 went to hw1,0 . That gave me spdif output in both xine and myth.

I looked into trying to change the order of the soundcards, but found that this fix was easier.

I am experiencing the same issue. I had to add snd_cmipci to /etc/modules

This fixed it for me. While in that file, I also commented out '#' snd_via82xx

I hope this helps you out.
