Howdy all
I am trying to come back to the KnoppMyth fold but it seems KnoppMyth just doesn't like me. Gone is the SCSI setup I had that stopped me using KM before and now I am only with IDE drives. I have a Western Digital 40Gb on hda and another WD on hdb but this one is 250Gb. This configuration works with pretty much everything else - FC4 and 5, MythDora, Ubuntu, Suse and even Windoze XP running MediaPortal.
However, I have been trying all day to get KnoppMyth installed but no go. First I tried 5D1 but it continually hangs right before reading fstab, "Setting Default Volumes" I think. This happens no matter what options I specify. Doing an "expert" install does get to the end of the install but won't boot - the machine sits there looking dumb right after trying to boot off the CD rom.
I then went to 5C7 and while that installed automatically, it too refused to boot. Firing up FC5 to see what the drive partitions look like revealed everything was there, just no boot.
I would prefer to use 5D1 if I could get it to go past the "Setting Default Volumes" bit.
My machine is a 933Mhz PIII, 384Mb Ram, 3 DVB-T cards : Compro DVB-T300, DNTV LIve! Pro & KWorld DVB-T220. Drives as above. Like I said, this setup works with everything else, just not KNoppMyth....
Any ideas?
Cheers
Bruce

I had to unplug my second hard drive to get a good km install. Make sure there is only one optical drive in the system as well.
After you get KM installed, plug in your second drive and do with it what you like.
I have a 160GB HD and a 300GB HD. I use the 300GB for /myth. It wasn't hard changing it after the install. If you need details, holler back.

Thanks for that...
I have 2 opticals... 1 CD drive (hdc) and 1 DVD drive (hdd) on the second IDE controller. I'll try remving one of them and disconnecting the 250Gb (hdb) as well, and see how I get on.
Cheers

Ok, good luck!
Oh, you may be able to plug your second HD back in after you install. Mine worked fine after the install. Just make sure you let the machine reboot and finish installation before you plug in your second drive.
Mine installed fine with the second drive plugged in, but wouldn't boot afterwards.
